FAQ
Have questions? We have the answers!
Those who are baptized are following Jesus' example and obeying His command.
Baptism is an outward symbol (and proclamation) of what happens when we trust in Christ.
1) Baptism symbolizes being washed clean from our sins.
Acts 22:16: "And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’"
2) Baptism sybolizes new life in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17: “...Those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!" (NLT)
Romans 6:4: “By our baptism then, we were buried with Him and shared His death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead … so also we may live a new life.”
3) Baptism is a going public with our faith.
Matthew 28:18–20: "...Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Everyone who has put their trust in Jesus.
Acts 2:38: "...Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Acts 2:41: "Those who accepted His message were baptized…”
Acts 8:13: “Simon himself believed and was baptized…”
Acts 8:12: "But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.”
If you have not been baptized since you made the decision to follow Jesus Christ or you do not remember being baptized, baptism might be a good step for you to take. However, if you have already been baptized as a believer, there is no need to get baptized again.
Because we believe that the Bible demonstrates baptism follows a person’s faith in Jesus, we do not baptize infants or young children (instead we offer child dedication). Older children who have made a decision to follow Christ, and can articulate their faith journey are welcome to participate in baptism.
